Every pour keeps a record of its making: a shade that will not return, a small variation in the surface, the hand behind the object. Eleven figures emerged in rose, blush, ivory, bone, and marble. Each has been given a name. Each exists once.
Marble was never meant to be odorless. In antiquity, one ritual for tending sculpture was ganosis — perfumed oils and wax worked into the stone. Three figures are tended in that spirit: Athena, Nausicaa, and Poseidon carry Giardino — lily of the valley, garden rose, and limestone moss. The other eight burn pure, unscented wax.
